The Eurofans are mad as hell. Usually they get angry with each other, but very occasionally they are able to unite against a common enemy. In this case, Eva Soriano. And is that the comedian has decided to make one of the biggest mistakes anyone can make regarding Eurovision: messing with Loreen, the Swedish singer who already won in 2012 and can repeat now a decade later… If Soriano allows it.

Where does the subject come from?

Okay, let’s put ourselves in situation: February 27, 2023. Eva Soriano goes to ‘The Resistance’ to present her new program, ‘Showriano’, and David Broncano asks her -apart from the canonical questions- with whom she has a bad feeling in the comedy world. She answers that no one in the comedy world, but in the song world there is someone to whom she has made a cross: Loreen.

In a drag gala she was hosting, Loreen, who was going to give a concert at the end, got up in the middle of the gala and started to do her thing for forty minutes, answering to the comedian “It’s my time!” when she told her to get off. “Things have to be said, because we are legitimizing people being assholes,” she commented on the show raising the hatred of people who claimed to have gone to the drag gala for and because of Loreen. According to the hatred, half of Spain went to that gala, person up, person down.

The beef continued for a while until on Yotele the artist said that she sings, basically, when they tell her to sing, she doesn’t control the tempos and had no idea what was going on. “They came and told me ‘Loreen, it’s your turn to perform’ and I said ‘okay, I’m going‘.” But Eva Soriano has decided to make the beef into a meme causing the singer’s fans to be pissed off. Quite a drama, huh.

Nails with cringe

It has been in her own program, ‘Showriano’, on Movistar+, where the comedian, who was close to winning ‘Tu cara me suena’, has dedicated a song tribute to Loreen settling the fight while throwing one last punch. A bit like “Well, yes, but I have the last word”.

Maybe I got fat and I admit it, I said that with Amy Winehouse you shared vice” was the softest thing she threw in the song with the refrain “I hate you Loreen, I hate you Loreen” that has led some Spanish Eurofans to think that it may keep Blanca Paloma away from victory. Let’s see. Neither Eva Soriano is so famous, nor the rest of the world gives a shit, no matter how much Movistar put Swedish subtitles looking for the beef.

“The nails they have put on you give a lot of cringe”, “Your song looks like the Flying Free” or “Don’t play Swedish with me” are some of the jokes with which, in a very obvious way, the comedian made a parody of herself. In Sweden and Spain have not taken it the same way, and anyone would say that tomorrow is going to start the most boring war in the world between the two countries for a drag gala and a song.

The next day, on ‘Cuerpos especiales’, the fantastic morning show on Europa FM, he admitted what anyone with two fingers in front already knew: that it was all a joke. “Maybe I’m not thinking things through this year,” he admitted after being reminded that, if he wins, he can go on the radio show to pull his hair out. We’ll see how the matter goes, but it doesn’t look like Loreen is going to stop her Eurovision performance to say “Ah, yes, Eva Soriano, I’m going to tell you four things”.
