If you are eagerly awaiting the sequel to K-Pop Demon Hunters, you will have to be patient: it won't see the light until 2029

The movie K-Pop Demon Hunters has achieved resounding success, positioning itself as one of the major phenomena in digital entertainment. Both Netflix and Sony are pleased with the results achieved, which has led to the confirmation of a sequel, although its release is scheduled for 2029, so there are still several years to wait.

Years to Keep Singing Golden

Michelle Wong, the producer of the film, has shared details about the direction of the new installment. In an interview with The Direct, she expressed her desire to explore more about the past of the main characters, Mira and Zoey, as well as delve into the relationship between Derpy and other characters like Sussie. This suggests that the sequel will have a more personalized and emotional focus, allowing fans to better understand the stories surrounding these charismatic protagonists.

Wong also mentioned that, during the production of the first film, several versions of Golden were developed, the song that has become a hit. Interestingly, no material regarding melodies was discarded, which opens the door to new musical surprises for the sequel. Details about which songs could be included have not yet been defined, but it is expected that music will continue to be a fundamental pillar in the narrative.

As for the cast, it is expected that Arden Cho, Ji-young Yoo, Ahn Hyo-seop, and other actors will reprise their voice roles for the sequel, although, like the release date, there is no specific confirmation regarding the production process.
