Viridian Matters has announced the development of a new game titled Panline, which is inspired by the iconic title Mirror’s Edge.
Panline stands out for its vibrant and contemporary visual style, featuring an urban environment that, while reminiscent of the clean and futuristic world of Mirror’s Edge, incorporates a more diverse color palette, with bright blues, oranges, and sea greens predominating.
A first-person parkour game
The game is characterized by its focus on parkour and non-linear movement skills, elements that promise to offer a dynamic and exciting experience. In Panline, players will navigate through a “non-linear open city,” where they can undertake jobs that will appear dynamically.
As they unlock new movement skills, they will also be able to access different areas of this vast environment. However, risk will be an integral part of the game; fatal falls can result in the loss of mission progress, forcing players to return to base to recount their achievements.
The release date for Panline is scheduled for this year, and expectations are high, especially considering that Viridian Matters already has a game on Steam that has received very positive reviews. This context raises hopes about the potential quality that Panline could offer, as the developer seems determined to revive the spirit of the classics from the 2000s.
Not much information has been revealed about the game beyond snippets of images and brief gameplay clips available on its Steam page. However, the gaming community eagerly anticipates the release of this title, which could fill the void left by the lack of new entries in the Mirror’s Edge franchise.
