EA is gradually getting back on track, embracing new projects like Immortals of Aveum. Developed by Ascendant Studios, a studio founded by Brian Sheth, the creative director of Sledgehammer Games known for their work on Call of Duty, the game was unveiled at The Game Awards 2022, where gameplay footage was showcased. With a first-person perspective, three colors of magic—red for destruction, blue for defense, and green for environmental manipulation—and fast-paced, fluid combat, Immortals of Aveum stands out for its blend of familiarity and unique personality. It’s an adventure with shooter elements that leverages the different colors of magic to adapt to our playstyle and utilizes the environment to create various puzzles and platforms.
With a release date set for July 20th on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, Immortals of Aveum is just around the corner. Whether the game will succeed or not will depend on the smoothness of its gameplay and the depth of its narrative.
