Epic Games has announced a significant change that will affect all Fortnite players: the price of V-Bucks, the in-game currency within the popular Battle Royale, will increase starting March 19.
This adjustment is due to the rising costs of maintaining the game’s servers, which forced the company to modify its pricing policy.

While the prices of the different paVos packages will remain the same, the amount of paVos that players will receive will be significantly reduced. For example, instead of the 1,000 paVos that were obtained for 8.99 euros, players will now receive 800 paVos for the same price. This decrease affects all formats, as can be seen in the changes table announced by Epic Games.
Additionally, Epic Games will introduce a refund system that will return 20% in Epic Games rewards for each purchase made. This refund can be used in Fortnite and other titles from the company, including popular ones like Fall Guys and Rocket League.
It is also worth noting that, although the cost of the battle pass will decrease from 1,000 paVos to 800 paVos, it will only grant 800 paVos upon completion, eliminating additional rewards in the form of paVos. Along with the battle pass, other passes, such as the Origins pass and the music pass, will also adjust their prices to 800 paVos and 1,200 paVos, respectively.
For the players’ peace of mind, Epic Games has assured that gift cards that have not been previously redeemed will not be affected by these changes and will continue to deliver the indicated amount of V-Bucks on them. This move is a response to the growing demand for the resources required to operate Fortnite and its servers.
