Apple said it would release the first public version of iOS 27 this July. The date remained, however, up in the air. Now, as of July 13, we have more information about when the first public beta that will include the new Siri AI should arrive.
According to Mark Gurman’s weekly newsletter, the public beta of iOS 27 and macOS 27 will arrive this very week. The date fits the usual schedule, which runs from July 11 to 24, with Monday being the most common release day. So, if rumors are right, today could be the day.
How to get ready to install iOS 27 Public Beta
Before jumping into the installation, it’s a good idea to have a few things ready. The first is to sign up at beta.apple.com to access the public beta program. Once that’s done, all we’ll need to do is open the Settings app on our iPhone, go to General → Software Update → Beta Updates and select iOS 27 Public Beta as soon as the test version is released publicly.
It’s highly recommended to make a full backup before installing the beta on your main device, because although it’s usually quite stable, errors or incompatibilities can always crop up that need to be ironed out before the official release of iOS 27 in the fall.
The highlight is the new Siri with Apple Intelligence, which we’ll be able to activate by joining a waitlist from Settings → Siri, but there’s much more. With iOS 27 Public Beta we’ll be able to try out the next evolution of the iPhone before anyone else.
