With the recent release of the iPhone 15, Apple has once again demonstrated what it’s capable of achieving in terms of power and performance. While we’ll have to wait for the official arrival of the devices to get a clearer idea of what they can do, according to leaked Geekbench scores, Apple’s new devices have not only surpassed their predecessors but have also set new standards in the world of smartphones.

A Geekbench that doesn’t surprise us

MySmartPrice has been one of the first media outlets to detect the Geekbench scores for the iPhone 15 Pro, identified by the model iPhone 16,1. The platform revealed that this device, with a six-core CPU and a base frequency of 3.78GHz, has scored 2,908 and 7,238 points in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. When comparing these figures to last year’s iPhone 14 Pro, which scored 2,642 and 6,739, the improvement is evident.

But it goes beyond that. The Max version of the iPhone 15 Pro, with the model number iPhone 16,2, also showed a significant jump in performance, scoring 2,846 and 7,024 points in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. In contrast, last year’s iPhone 14 Pro Max scored only 2,546 and 6,631 points.

This increase in performance is primarily due to improvements in the chip thanks to the new 3nm architecture, but it also benefits from the increase in RAM. Remember that the new models of the iPhone 15 Pro come with 8GB of RAM, compared to the 6GB in the previous model.

During the presentation, Apple told us that the A17 Pro, with its six-core CPU, offers CPU performance that’s 10% faster and GPU performance that’s 20% better. Now, these values are evident in the leaked Geekbench scores.

Part of the score is due to the fact that the A17 Pro also introduces a new GPU. According to Apple, it’s the biggest redesign in Apple’s GPU history, with a special emphasis on efficiency and performance when running complex applications and new rendering features like ray tracing support.

Without a doubt, Apple has once again exceeded expectations with the launch of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The results we’re discussing today clearly confirm that the company continues to be a benchmark in power and efficiency.
