This week took place the Keynote of the Google I/O 2023, Google’s annual conference for developers where the company announces its future developments in software and hardware. Among the big (and numerous) announcements, Google showed us its Pixel Fold, the company’s first foldable phone, detailing its specifications, starting price and release date.

Rumors gathered by the website detail that the Apple company would be internally developing several prototypes of foldable iPhones and iPads, although these would take quite a long time to be released to the market. Various industry analysts speak of 2025 as the earliest release date for these future Apple devices, of which not much more is known so far.
Among the prototypes that Apple has created, there would be one that would resemble an iPhone that folds, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, and another that would look more like an iPad that can be folded to become a phone. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this Apple tablet would be the first to hit the market.
“I am optimistic about the 2024 foldable iPad and expect this new model to drive shipments and improve product mix,” Kuo said. My latest survey indicates that the foldable iPad will have a carbon fiber kickstand. The carbon fiber material will make the stand lighter and more durable.”
In addition, according to CCS Insights, Apple’s first foldable device would cost around $2,500, a much higher price than current iPhones. The prices of foldable cell phones are currently around 1,800 euros, so we would be talking about the most expensive foldable cell phone on the market.
