Now she’s one of the biggest stars in the world, and there’s no one who’d dare stand in the way of Wednesday Addams herself, or, rather, Jenna Ortega. However, when she became a Disney child star on the series Stuck in the Middle, she ended up having serious issues with eating… like, sadly, most teenage actors of the time.
Not even Wednesday could eat
As the actress has admitted, she was obsessed with her work and gave two hundred percent: “As a child I had everything going for me, because I don’t remember making a single mistake. Is it terrible to say that? I feel like now I make mistakes constantly, but as a child I was so grateful and so excited to be there that I always gave my best“. But of course, even in those circumstances there are consequences.
And the thing is, in order not to draw attention, she really ended up having a rough time: “I didn’t even ask for a sip of water. I’d spend the whole day without eating, drinking, or whatever because I didn’t want to get in anyone’s way. Maybe that was my mistake, I didn’t take care of myself“. The life of Disney child actors, what a cushy gig, huh?!
Ortega, though, is clear that everything she’s done has been worth it: “I was 7 when I said I wanted to pursue this. My parents laughed at me when I told them, and that was where it all started. My motivation. And I never stopped, because I’m very stubborn. And I never questioned it”. The fuel that drives child actors? Well, apparently, drama.
