Martin Scorsese has done it again. After driving everyone crazy with The Irishman, the Netflix film in which he starred Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, the director of The Wolf of Wall Street has teamed up again with Leonardo DiCaprio in Killers of the Flower Moon, a film from Paramount and Apple TV+ that will be released on October 18 and promises to crown the awards season.

Scorsese and DeNiro are joined by a spectacular cast: Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Barry Corbin and recent Oscar winner Brendan Fraser. The film looks spectacular, and sounds like one to talk about for years to come. The trailer has just been released and, without a doubt, suspicions are confirmed. Big movie in sight.

A film based on real events

The synopsis of Killers of the Flower Moon is based on a dramatic true story about Native Americans and Americans who want to take their land. There is no doubt that it will be a thoughtful film but with a touch of crime as Scorsese is accustomed to. The plot is as follows:

When oil is discovered in 1920s Oklahoma under the lands of the Osage Nation, its people are murdered one by one until the FBI steps in to solve the crimes.

With DiCaprio as Ernest Burkhart and De Niro as businessman William Hale, the film will address issues that, despite being 100 years old, are still contemporary today. “I wish I could take an eight-week break and make a movie at the same time,” Scorsese said recently, because now, he says, he has found the perfect way to make movies… even though he’s too old for it.
