The weekend of August 14 to 16, Disney fans have an event they can’t miss, since D23 is being held, the event where the company’s future plans will be presented. Focusing on its immediate future, with everything they have planned for 2027 and 2028, but laying out its roadmap through 2030 and beyond, D23 also serves as a celebration for fans.
An event full of surprises
This year it will also be notable in that Disney has announced they’ll host a Kingdom Hearts Deep Dive. This will take place on August 16 between 1:30AM and 2:30AM, Spain local time. According to its official description, it will be “a journey through light and darkness as we commemorate twenty-five years of Kingdom Hearts. Discover how this saga brought together Disney, Pixar, and Square Enix, with stories from the creative minds, the voices of the characters, and more people behind the magic”.
This Deep Dive comes after the latest Nintendo Direct featured a new trailer for the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts IV, which still has no release date set. This Deep Dive, however, suggests that its release date may be closer than we think. Serving as a warm-up for more news about a game that has already been in development for a long time, since it was announced back in April 2022.
Held in Anaheim, California, D23 will also offer “an exclusive look at what’s coming in Disney movies, television, games, and stage plays”, so Disney fans will get coverage of everything related to the company’s franchises. However, they will still have to wait a month to find out what else is in store.
