The launch of the iPhone 15 is still some time away. However, every day we know a little more about what is to come with the new generation of Apple‘s successful smartphone. Last week, some significant changes were revealed, such as the absence of a physical volume rocker.
Apple says “goodbye” to physical buttons
This rumor has been one of the most talked about. We have been hearing for some time now that both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will abandon physical buttons to embrace haptic motors. These new buttons will react to pressure just as the iPhone SE and the trackpads found on the latest MacBooks do today.
In fact, a new leaked image revealed that the iPhone 15 Pro will have a single elongated volume button, which will serve to increase or decrease the sound. The image also shows that the mute switch will also be replaced by the same mechanism as the volume indicator.
New AirPods Pro with USB-C connection
In the new iOS 16.4, beta testers have discovered a hidden reference to what appears to be new AirPods along with a new type of charging case. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it is likely that it is the AirPods 2 with a case that replaces the lightning port with the “obliged” USB-C. At the moment, Apple does not plan to launch other versions of AirPods 2 and 3, so the transition will be made officially when the future AirPods 4 are launched. Finally, in iOS 16.4 we also find references to the Beats Studio Buds+, which have not yet been released.
iOS 16.4 and voice call enhancements
Another of the most striking new features of iOS 16.4 is voice isolation. Apple says that this option completely blocks ambient sounds so that your voice sounds clearer and clearer. Although the feature was already enabled by default in other apps such as FaceTime and WhatsApp, devices running iOS 15 or macOS Monterey will be able to enjoy voice isolation on normal calls.
Will we get a HomePod with a screen?
Another of the big rumors surrounding Apple is the alleged development of a HomePod with screen, in the style of the competition (Amazon Echo Show or Google Nest Hub). However, due to budget cuts the project would have been delayed until next year.
