Would you like to become a hacker overnight? Do you want to amaze your friends and blow their minds with your computer skills? We can help you. Even if you have no idea how to write code and don’t feel like spending hours and hours to crack a password, you can become the absolute king of the PC in no time. Would you like to know how?
In today’s article we are going to share with you the best tricks to look like a PC genius. You don’t need a lot of technical knowledge to become the computer whiz of the group. All you need is a bit of expertise and our tips. Here we go!
1. Change CMD color
If you are a fan of movies about hackers, you will know that they never use an operating system like Windows. They work directly from the command prompt and thanks to that they always manage to get in and hack any security system. But if there is one thing that makes this command line stand out, it is that it is lime green, thus highlighting its hacker look. Would you like to have a similar one? It’s very simple!
To do this, first of all you need to access the system console by pressing the Windows key + R, typing “cmd” and pressing Enter. Already in the command line, left-click on the window and select the “Properties” option. Now simply select the “Colors” tab, check the “Display Text” option and click on the lime green button. It’s that simple!

If you wish (and want to look even more hackerish), you can also change the CMD color from the same command line. Just type “color //?”, hit Enter and choose the green color from the list (2 or A). Now you’ve got that PC genius look you’ve been looking for.

2. Write lines of code like a hacker
You have already changed the color of the CMD and your friends are amazed to see the new look of your PC but… What if they want you to show them how you manage your new hacker side? Simple. Leave them open-mouthed using HackerTyper.
This fun website allows you to type code at full speed, like a real hacker. No matter what you type, just pound on the keyboard and it will look like you are trying to access a top secret database. For added effect, hit the ALT key three times and the message “Access Granted” will appear in green while hitting the ShiftLock key three times will display the text “Access Denied” in red.

3. Learn how to “steal” passwords
Let’s face it. You can dazzle your friends by writing lines of code like there’s no tomorrow, but if you have no results to show for it, they might smell something fishy. Nothing better to establish your new identity as the hacker king of the group and PC expert than “stealing” some of their passwords. It’s very simple, you’ll just need to use one of their computers.
As you may well know, any password that you have typed on a computer and saved in the browser, appears as hidden. If you want to surprise your friends, open the browser they always use and type the URL of a page where you are sure they have typed the password. A good bet is a social network like Facebook.
Once on the web page, click on the button to access your account and when the password box appears, right-click on it and select the “Inspect” option. Among all the code that appears, click on “type=password” and change it to “type=text” and the password will appear as if by magic on the web page!

4. Use progress bars for EVERYTHING
Have you explained to your friends that you have infiltrated the Pentagon database and are transferring federal reserve funds to your account but they don’t believe it? At first it sounds a little weird so if you want to convince them, you better accompany it with something visual. Something as simple as a progress bar. But… how to add it?
It uses Fake Progress Bar, a program that serves only and exclusively to pretend that something important is happening. In reality, it does nothing except show an endless succession of progress bars. The best thing: you can customize the texts as you wish.

5. Reboot your router using Telnet
Internet connection is down and you need to reboot the router? Most people would opt to use the power button or disconnect the cable… But that’s not for you. You need to prove that you are a PC genius and nothing better than connecting to the router from the web interface.
Instead, you can connect to the router from the web interface, but this hardly manages to impress your friends. Why not use PuTTy? Thanks to this simple free program you can surprise your friends by connecting via Telnet to the router.
From PuTTy, enter your username and password, type reboot and enjoy the incomprehensible text informing you of the process while you make an interesting face and nod in front of the astonished look of the visitors.

6. Change the text of your programs
Surprise your friends by explaining how you managed to decompile a program, rewrite it and recompile it with your modifications. Don’t worry, you won’t need several years of studying code to do this. Just download Resource Hacker and let this fun freeware do the rest.
With Resource Hacker you will be able to edit all kinds of executable files and, although you will not be able to change their functions, it will be very easy to change their icons and the text of the program itself, just enough to make your friends think you are a PC genius!

7. Get a hacker desk
We all know that hackers don’t use a computer like everyone else’s. At least in the movies, they always have a thousand windows open with cascading code, chats, progress bars and folders full of confidential documents. At least in the movies, they always have a thousand windows open with cascades of code, chats, progress bars and folders full of confidential documents. Would you like to achieve the same effect in a few seconds?
Visit the Geektyper website and select any of their desktop theme simulators. These perfectly mimic a hacker’s computer and are fully interactive. You will be able to open windows full of code, interact with their windows, folders and even chat with your friends!

8. Add meters with Rainmeter
If the desktop theme simulator doesn’t convince you, you can change the look of your PC to that of a computer expert thanks to Rainmeter. This exceptional free application will allow you to fill your desktop with information such as CPU usage, the temperature of your sensors, hard disk space, and so on.

9. Turn off your friends’ computers
Remember the annoying message that Dennis Nedry left on his PC after sabotaging Jurassic Park? Get something similar but with your colleagues’ computers. An original way to make your friends believe for sure that you are a PC genius is to shut down their computers by displaying a pre-determined message written by you.
To do this simply open the notepad and type the following code:
@echo offShutdown.exe -s -t 10Clsmsg * I am a computer genius!
Now simply save the file with the name soyelmejor.bat and wait for your friends to gawk as their PCs shut down on their own, displaying the message “I’m a computer genius!”.

10. Write like a hacker (Leet/H4x0r)
Typing correctly is not typical of someone as computer literate as you pretend to be. Therefore, it is best to 3MP13C35 4 35CR1B1R 451, C0M0 L05 H4CK3RZ, using the Leet language (L337) or H4x0r.
Writing like this is a bit cumbersome and confusing if you are not used to it. Fortunately there are several online translators such as funtraslations, lingojam or brenz.net with which you can translate your messages in no time.
