To everyone’s surprise, Sony Pictures continues with its Spider-Man movie universe but without Spider-Man. In a bid to capitalize on Marvel Studios’ fame, the studio started releasing films centered on the hero’s villains… without featuring Spider-Man himself. It worked successfully with Venom – soon to be a triple play – but Morbius was an absolute failure. Soon, two movies await their moment: Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web.

The first of these was supposed to be released soon, but then came the actors’ and writers’ strike, and Hollywood had its own share of issues. But now, as we await its upcoming release, Sony is gearing us up for their other big film: Madame Web. They just released the trailer, and well, it’s better for you to judge for yourselves:

Who is Madame Web? The question we are all asking arrives at the cinema

The question everyone asks when watching the trailer is who is this woman. Well, this is a kind of psychic born in Salem with psychic abilities that allow her to see the “spider world”. At least that’s how it is in the comics, although the synopsis of the feature film seems somewhat different:

“Cassandra Webb is a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront events that have been revealed from her past, she creates a relationship with three young women destined for a powerful future… if they manage to survive a mortal present”.

Starring Dakota Johnson (50 Shades of Grey), the film also features Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, and Tahar Rahim in its cast. Its release is scheduled for February 14, 2024, perfect for Valentine’s Day, but it’s not clear if it will receive the support Sony aims for.
