Popular Windows anti-malware application, Malwarebytes, is now available on Android. Although malware on Android is still relatively uncommon, it doesn’t hurt to add an extra layer of protection to your phone or tablet.
Malwarebytes for Android still uses a scanner paired with a database of malicious apps to help you detect if that app you downloaded from the internet is safe to install or not. The application provides real-time scanning, like it does on Windows, so your phone will be actively protected.
The personal information on our devices is extremely sensitive so it’s nice to see that Malwarebytes makes sure you know what’s going on with each app. Within the app, there’s a section that lists out each app and its permissions so you know exactly what each app has access to. If you see something amiss, you can remove the app from your device. The app also quickly audits your devices for security holes like using unsecured Wi-Fi hotspots.
Last but not least is the resource manager, which lets you see what apps are using the most system resources like memory or CPU cycles.
