Marvel: Wolverine gets a new trailer that reveals its great villainess

Insomniac Games and PlayStation have released a new trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine. This time the trailer focuses on revealing who will be the story’s antagonists and, probably, the main villains. Here, we see both Sabretooth and Lady Deathstrike.

Two villains with a lot of history

Sabretooth is, probably, the more famous of the two. Considered Wolverine’s archenemy par excellence, his first appearance was in Iron Fist #17, in August 1977, and since then he has become a rival obsessed with defeating Wolverine. A Canadian with regenerative powers and part of the Weapon X Project like Wolverine, on very rare occasions he has been an ally of the X-Men. That may well happen at some point in this game.

Lady Deathstrike’s backstory is a bit more complex. She is a Japanese supervillain whose father, Lord Dark Wind, created the process of fusing adamantium with the human body that Wolverine was forced to undergo in the Weapon X Project. Which makes Lady Deathstrike one of Wolverine’s clearest enemies. The game can explore that through the revelation that she’s tied to his origins and suffering, and simply by making her his rival.

With a release slated for September 15, 2026 exclusively for PlayStation 5, Marvel’s Wolverine is Sony’s big title for this year. It has also been confirmed that it will get a physical edition that includes the disc.
