Mayday: The Survival Island is coming to PC via Steam on November 2, 2026. It comes from Pequi Studios, a three-person team based in Brazil, and indie.io is publishing it. If you want to try it before release, there’s already a free demo on Steam.

The Steam page describes it as a survival sandbox with a mix of Zelda-style discovery, an Uncharted-like shipwreck mystery, and Minecraft-flavored gathering, crafting, shelter building, and basic survival management.

In the demo, you play a plane-crash survivor exploring ruins across a hand-crafted, hand-drawn archipelago made up of 24 islands. As you move through them, you piece together clues about a lost civilization. The whole setup seems built around curiosity, so you can wander at your own pace instead of being funneled through a procedural map.

People who played it at PAX West and Gamescom have called out the survival loop, the environmental detail, and the animation as early highlights. Even so, the Steam demo has only hit a peak of 37 concurrent players so far, according to SteamDB.

If you’re into smaller open-world games and you’d rather explore than spend your time clearing map icons, Mayday: The Survival Island looks worth checking out.

The demo is on Steam now, and the full PC release is still listed for November 2, 2026 on the game’s Steam page.
