Microsoft confirmed the rumor that Windows 10 will run on all Windows Phone 8 Lumia devices over Twitter today. This still puts into question whether or not non-Lumina phones will get the Windows 10 update next year.

Microsoft botched its operating system upgrades in 2012 by denying relatively new devices the latest version of its mobile operating systems. Many Windows Phone 7 devices were left in the cold when Windows Phone 8 came out so it’s nice to see that they’re breathing some more life into older devices.
Windows 10 will mark the beginning of Microsoft’s vision of one version of Windows across all its platforms. This means a developer only has to write an app once for it to work on a myriad of devices with different screen sizes.
