Microsoft’s latest Facebook beta for Windows Phone 8 rolled out last week and it’s a much improved app that brings it up to par with its Android and iOS counterparts. Some app developers have already taken advantage of the newly released app by creating copycat apps. One goes as far to name itself “Facebook WP8 beta.” It’s no wonder Microsoft is issuing takedown notices, citing consumer confusion.

While Microsoft has issued take down notices, the company hasn’t gone as far as removing them from the store yet. This will no doubt happen within the next few days or weeks. This move will probably stir up some controversy as well since there are legitimate third-party Facebook apps that try to create a better experience for users.
