Microsoft has patched some huge security flaws today. A total of 57 flaws have been patched in Windows, Office, and Internet Explorer. Many of these patches have been marked as “critical” as they can allow hackers to execute code on a machine remotely. One patch cites the ability for hackers to take over a user’s machine after visiting a malware-laden site.
The patch for Internet Explorer covers IE 6 and above, including the most recent version, IE 10, which is only available on Windows 8/RT (there’s a beta version for Windows 7). This is quite a broad patch for all Internet Explorer products so the security flaw is quite serious.
Besides patching security flaws, Microsoft has also included bug fixes for wireless network connections. There are also patches for ActiveX, .NET Framework, and Microsoft Server Software
