There is still quite a while to wait for the last season of Stranger Things. The Netflix series is the crown jewel of the streaming platform, but the strikes – first the writers’ strike and now the actors’ strike – have caused it to be delayed until they reach an agreement that satisfies everyone. This has led to an obvious delay in the series, but the truth is that not all actors are eager to return to their original roles.

Millie Bobby Brown, the actress who portrays Eleven in the series and owes everything to it, has made it clear that she’s a bit tired of her character and wants to finally finish the series once and for all. Although she appreciates everything that has happened to her because of it, in the end, she has spent almost half her life filming its seasons and wants to move on finally.

A new step in her career

In an interview with Glamour magazine, Brown was asked about the fifth and final season of the series, in which they will finally come face to face with Vecna, leaving behind both her character and the rest of the show forever. Her words were as follows:

“When you’re ready, you say, ‘Alright, let’s do it. Let’s go for this last year. Let’s get out of here.’ Filming Stranger Things takes a long time and prevents me from creating stories that I’m passionate about. So I’m ready to say ‘thank you’ and ‘goodbye.’ I think I’m ready. It’s been a very significant factor in my life, but it’s like graduating from high school, it’s like the senior year. You’re ready to go and flourish, and you’re grateful for the time you’ve had, but it’s time to create your own message and live your own life.”

Undoubtedly, the actress’s life changed forever after appearing in the first season of Stranger Things. But now, she is eager to try new things, such as the upcoming film The Electric State, a post-apocalyptic movie by the Russo brothers in which she shares the screen with Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, and Michelle Yeoh:

“In the movie, I can compete on equal footing with Chris Pratt. It’s a very exciting opportunity that I never thought I would have, to be treated the same way as him and be seen and respected in the same way as him on set, by the production and the studio.”
