Minecraft 1.7.3 should be released this week, if no problems arise from the pre-release testing version launched on Friday.
Twitch.tv broadcasting is the biggest change in 1.7.3. Twitch is a live streaming service that allows you to broadcast your gaming. Integration with Minecraft means you’ll be able to easily broadcast your games by hitting F6. You need to make a Twitch account, and link it to your Mojang account, and in Minecraft Settings you can choose your preferred video quality.
Twitch broadcasting from Minecraft is supported in Windows Vista and above, and OS X 10.7 (Lion) or higher. The other changes in Minecraft 1.7.3 are less major. This year has seen big improvements in Minecraft, with versions 1.6 and 1.7 adding really good and very popular (see Horses) features to the game.
Since it came out of beta in 2011, Mojang has continued to refine and add features to the sandbox survival and creation game, and it shows no sign of slowing down.
