Although the community is the one who keeps Minecraft afloat, this does not mean that Xbox has neglected its game -of course-. On this occasion, Redmond has announced that version 1.20 of the game will be available from today February 15, and with this update comes great news divided into three blocks: cherry blossom biome, archeology and sniffer.

Starting with the cherry blossom trees, behind this name hides a new biome where the pink hue is predominant. “These new trees can also be broken down and turned into a complete set of wood, including new hanging signs and cherry seedlings to grow more of these beautiful pink trees,” comments the company’s release.

Secondly, Minecraft introduces the archeology set. Introduced back in 2020 during Minecraft Live, this one finally ends up appearing for players, who will enjoy “a greater sense of mystery”. Users will find a new type of sand – suspicious sand – near the desert temples, and using a new tool, the brush, they will be able to remove blocks of suspicious sand to uncover hidden tools, bones, sniffer eggs and pottery shards. The latter contain partial patterns, and four fragments can be put together to create a patterned vessel that tells a unique story,” they note.

And in third and last place, the sniffer. The winner of the 2022 Minecraft Live mob vote comes to this world. From now on, sniffer eggs can be found in the new archaeological sites near the desert temples. “Players can hatch the newly unearthed egg and get a baby snifflet, which will grow into a giant sniffer. The new mob can track ancient seeds from when it once roamed the Overworld. The new seeds will become unique decorative plants,” they conclude.

It should be noted that this update will be available first to beta version holders, both in snapshot (Java) and preview (bedrock).
