Markus Persson (aka Notch) announced on Twitter that he canceled plans for an Oculus Rift version of Minecraft because Facebook “creeps” him out. This news comes shortly after Facebook announced its plans to buy the company who makes the Rift, Oculus VR.
We were in talks about maybe bringing a version of Minecraft to Oculus. I just cancelled that deal. Facebook creeps me out.

Persson was apparently in talks with Oculus to bring a version of the popular game Minecraft to the virtual reality headset. Some unofficial ports of the game already exist for the Oculus but none created by Persson’s studio, Mojang.
Other game developers may have the same reaction if Facebook’s purchase of Oculus VR is successful. For now, Oculus will continue to act independently from Facebook. That could change in the future as Facebook looks to expand of new platforms like virtual reality.
