Moneyball leaves Netflix this August: not long left to stream it

Moneyball is leaving Netflix in the US at the end of August 2026, so there’s still a short window to catch the much-loved 2011 sports drama with Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill while it’s still there.

Nothing about the exit looks strange. It seems to be a routine licensing expiration, the kind of thing Netflix goes through all the time as licensed movies cycle in and out of the catalog. In other words, this is the usual streaming churn.

Bennett Miller directed the film, adapting Michael Lewis’s book for the screen. It follows Oakland Athletics GM Billy Beane and analyst Peter Brand as they push data-driven sabermetrics into a sport still deeply attached to old-school scouting.

The movie was a hit by any reasonable measure. Moneyball reportedly cost $50 million to make and brought in more than $110.2 million worldwide. It also holds a 94% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and picked up six Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Brad Pitt, and Best Supporting Actor for Jonah Hill. Its reach didn’t stop with baseball, either. The film’s ideas carried over into other sports, business, and tech.

So if it’s been sitting on your watchlist, now’s probably the time. Moneyball will stay on Netflix in the US through August 2026, and no replacement US streaming home has been announced. In the UK, it has also been available through Sky Go and Now TV Cinema.
