Anna Shay, who appeared on Netflix’s reality show “Bling Empire,” has passed away after suffering a stroke. She was 62 years old.
Shay rose to fame on Netflix’s reality show “Bling Empire” in 2021. She appeared alongside Kane Lim, Gabriel and Christine Chiu, Kim Lee, Jaime Xie, and other members of the Asian-American high society in Los Angeles.
Story of a star that shone late
Shay was born and raised in Japan, the daughter of American businessman Edward Shay and Ai Oizumi Shay, who was half Japanese and half Russian. Her father was the founder of the defense company Pacific Architects and Engineers.
After her father’s death in 1995, Shay’s brother Allen became the CEO of Pacific Architects. In 2006, Shay and her brother sold the company to Lockheed Martin, which made them heirs to the company’s fortune.
Shay stated that starring in ‘Bling Empire’ was the first thing she did for herself after spending years taking care of her son following the deaths of her parents.
Farewell from family and friends
Co-star of “Bling Empire” Kevin Kreider paid tribute to Shay on Instagram: “You never know when your last goodbye will be. So unexpected, and I wished when I last saw you for lunch, I took a moment to smell the roses and have one last adventure with you.”
“It saddens our hearts to announce that Anna Shay, a loving mother, grandmother, charismatic star, and our brightest ray of sunshine, has passed away at the young age of 62 due to a stroke. Anna taught us many life lessons on not taking life too seriously and enjoying the good things. We will always miss her influence in our lives, but we will never forget her,” her family wrote in a statement sent to the American press.
