John Wick has gone from being a small action film with moderate expectations to becoming one of the most followed cinematic universes in current Hollywood. The franchise starring Keanu Reeves already boasts four film installments, alongside a television series (The Continental) and the upcoming spin-off, Ballerina, featuring Ana de Armas.

But the John Wick universe has only just begun, and the producers of the saga are already thinking about what will come next. Beyond what we have seen, there is a lot of world left to explore, and there is a specific path they could take in future movies or series.

What will be the next spin-off of John Wick?

Basil Iwanyk, producer of John Wick and Ballerina, has explained to Screen Rant what he would like the next spin-off of the saga to be. His words were as follows:

I really like the Bowery King and that world surrounding him. We scratch the surface of who he is and who those men and women around him are, and why they do what they do. I think there’s something really cool about these people who consciously choose to be in the shadows. They are the people we see every day when we walk down the street or think, ‘Oh, does this person want my money?’ I think that’s a world we haven’t touched on yet, which I think could be really cool and really tense and gritty, dark. I don’t know, it’s something that has always intrigued me.”

Regarding the Bowery King’s world, Iwanyk has also commented on his interest in what surrounds it:

The entire group around the Bowery King leaves an impression in every movie they appear in. Because there are also the guys from The Continental, they’re like gentlemen or samurais, very formal. And those from the Bowery King are crazy, fun, and informal. And I think that’s a big… I don’t know, I have no idea what that world is, we’re inventing it as we go. But man, that world intrigues me a lot.”
