Well, Elon Musk is intent on keeping his promise to Twitter members. Those of you who have Twitter Blue Memberships will be able to upload much longer videos than those who don’t. Also, more people will see your posts and replies if you have that covered verification badge. Perhaps he’s doing so as a way to prove that he deserves to remain as CEO of the platform.

For Twitter Blue subscribers, you can now upload an hour-long video of up to 2 GB. At the moment, it’s not available for iOS or Android apps, which means you’ll need to do it from your PC. While this extra time limit is appreciated, the file size still means you might not be able to upload a massive video with plenty of layers and visual content.

Let’s look at the positive side. While non-members can only upload ten minutes of video, the hour length gives you more time to be creative. You can post those gaming retrospectives you’ve been working on, or give your opinion on the latest Twitter trends in a lengthy rant. What I don’t get is why Elon is going against the trend at the moment.

We’ve seen how popular short-form content has been on platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. They keep our minds engaged, and we can watch plenty of videos within an hour instead of one. For some reason, Elon thinks that giving Tweeters a chance to upload longer videos will make Twitter more popular.

Then again, Twitter members have been asking for longer videos. It will be interesting to see how Elon deals with copyright issues when he realizes that more people are uploading movies onto the platform. He may just regret granting their wishes in a bid to retain their approval as the current CEO. That’s right; he has yet to resign.
