Only Murders in the Building reportedly heads to London for season 6: its biggest change yet

Only Murders in the Building, Hulu’s mystery-comedy hit, has reportedly been renewed for season 6. And if the reports circulating by May 2026 are right, the show is about to make its biggest jump yet: leaving New York for London, possibly under a new title, Only Murders in London.

If that happens, it’ll be the first time Only Murders in the Building has unfolded outside the US, with a completely new case set in the UK capital. Hulu had already teased that the series was “headed across the pond,” and reports published by May 2026 said season 6 was already in pre-production.

London gives the show a new backdrop without changing the appeal. You still get the sharp comedy, the celebrity drop-ins, and a murder investigation that starts small and keeps expanding, but this time without the Arconia or the usual Manhattan rhythm.

According to those same reports, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez are all expected to return as Charles-Haden Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel Mora.

The guest cast being reported is stacked: Peter Capaldi, David Tennant, Jodie Whittaker, Nicola Coughlan, Richard Ayoade, Jennifer Saunders, Simone Ashley, Sharon Horgan, and Martin Freeman. The Doctor Who overlap doesn’t hurt, either.

If the main draw for you is the chemistry between the central trio, this change still sounds like it could work. Hulu’s season 5 renewal and release timeline also suggest the streamer wants to keep one of its biggest originals from going stale.
