Pixel 11 preorders are live: hidden Play Store discounts may stack

Google opened US pre-orders for the Pixel 11 lineup on August 12, and some Google Play Points members have spotted a discount in the Google Play Store that most people probably would’ve missed. Google announced the phones that same day, with shipping set for August 20. The lineup covers the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold, priced from $899, $1,099, $1,299, and $1,899. Google is also making 256GB the standard starting storage across the whole range.

According to reports from Google Play Points members, Platinum members are seeing $150 off the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL, plus $175 off the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Diamond members are getting a little more: $175 off the three non-folding models and $200 off the Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

What makes this stand out is simple. The discount comes off right away, not later in the form of a gift card, and it may also stack with trade-in offers. Google hasn’t exactly put the promotion front and center, though, and it’s still not clear whether anyone outside the US can get it.

Even so, it’s still smart to line this up against the other launch deals out there. Amazon and Best Buy are offering gift cards worth as much as $350, and Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile all have trade-in and new-line promos that can bring the price of a Pixel 11 down to effectively free.

If you were already planning to trade in an older phone, this tucked-away Google Play Store deal is probably worth taking. Especially because the Pixel 11 pitch, with Tensor G6, HiLight, upgraded 48MP and 50MP cameras, 120x Pro Zoom, and Magic Capture, looks more like a round of polish than a dramatic jump.
