Gamers get hungry during long gaming sessions. Pizza Hut knows this and has created a pizza ordering app for the Xbox 360. Gamers may never have to leave their homes ever again.
Launching today in the US, the Pizza Hut app for Xbox gives players access to the company’s entire menu, making it easy to order custom pies, wings, pasta, deserts, and drinks. The app supports Kinect’s motion controls, voice commands, and the traditional game pad. As with most apps these days, you can share directly to Facebook about what you ordered.
The Pizza Hut app will even sync users orders and preferences by linking their Xbox Live and Pizza Hut accounts. The incentive for linking the two accounts is a streamlined ordering process since the app will remember your order history.
Previously, gamers had to order pizza by phone or online. The Pizza Hut Xbox app lowers this barrier of entry so that gamers can order without moving from the couch. It’s only a matter of time before more food companies create apps for the Xbox.
Still, the app is not perfect. Players will have to jump out of a game to place an order since the Xbox doesn’t support running multiple apps at once. If only there was a Xbox controller with a dedicated pizza button that’ll place an order from your last order history. Get it on it, Microsoft.
Pizza Hut for Xbox is available today, April 23rd, on Xbox Live.
