A week of online services crashes all over the world. If already on Wednesday we reported the downtime of Twitter servers worldwide, today it was the turn of PlayStation Network, PlayStation‘s online platform.
According to the Down Detector website, PlayStation Network services experienced a series of outages between 7.30 and 10.30 a.m. (Spanish time), reported by users from different parts of the world. Around 8.50 a.m., all PSN services were inoperative, including the management of user accounts, the ability to connect online or the ability to access the PlayStation Store, its digital store.

As of 11 a.m., services were already gradually recovering worldwide, as shown in the graphic and on the official “PSN Service Status” website, whose information comes from PlayStation itself.

This outage in the PlayStation Network service, which has no apparent relation to the maintenance usually performed by PlayStation, affected users who were in the middle of online games or who were joining one, who were surprised by the impossibility of connecting after several minutes of waiting or after error messages appeared.
As seen in this TikTok video, user @whatisthis2003 was unable to join an online FIFA 22 match, lamenting the situation. Other users on the social network commented that he was also experiencing the same glitches and that it was due to a server crash.
These types of incidents occur very occasionally on PlayStation Network, although they are highly criticized by users due to the fact that the possibility of connecting online in any video game on the platform is only available to PlayStation Plus subscribers, the brand’s paid service that also has a series of advantages such as free games and discounts on PlayStation Store purchases.
Publicist and audiovisual producer in love with social networks. I spend more time thinking about which videogames I will play than playing them.
