For those who don’t know it, the series follows the adventures of Jack Ryan, a CIA analyst who has no problem doing whatever it takes to get to the bottom of any problem in order to protect his country. Focusing each season on a different conspiracy, with the first focusing on the war on terror, the second on a political war in Venezuela, and the third on a bizarre plot to bring back the former Soviet Union, from this fourth season we only know that Jack Ryan, now as deputy director of the CIA, will have to expose the internal corruption of his own agency. Exposing the country’s own weaknesses in the process.

Although we don’t know how the series will end, we do know that this won’t be the last time we’ll see Jack Ryan on our screens. Krasinski is the fifth actor to play Tom Clancy’s famous character – who made his first appearance in the novel The Hunt for Red October, published in 1984 – and it’s doubtful that he’ll be the last. So, although the series has already headed into its final stretch, his fans have nothing to fear: Jack Ryan lives on in his dozens of novels to be adapted.
