Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy may join PS Plus Premium in late July

Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy is reportedly headed to Sony’s PlayStation Plus Premium Classics lineup on PS4 and PS5 in late July 2026.

The dates showing up in reports are July 21 and July 28. Either way, this looks like a PlayStation Plus Premium addition, with no sign of it landing on PlayStation Plus Extra or PlayStation Plus Essential. Sony has been filling out the retro side of the service lately, and Psi-Ops would sit alongside other PS2-era returns such as Gitaroo Man and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams.

If you missed Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy back in 2004, you play as Nick Scryer in a third-person sci-fi shooter built around guns and psychic powers. Telekinesis, mind control, pyrokinesis, and more all factor into the combat, so you’re not just shooting. You’re hurling objects across rooms, taking over enemies, and turning the environment itself into part of the fight.

That’s still the big draw. Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy has a cult following because that physics-heavy freedom gave it something most action games at the time didn’t have. Contemporary reviews tended to praise the psychic mechanics and the range in combat, even if some critics knocked the short campaign and the uneven level design. If PS2 action games with weird, inventive systems are your thing, this is one to keep an eye on, especially since Sony’s Classics releases usually come with visual upscaling and trophy support.
