Qualcomm updates Snapdragon Control Panel: redesigned app lands ahead of X2 Elite laptops

Qualcomm has refreshed Snapdragon Control Panel, the utility that ships on Snapdragon-powered Windows laptops, and bumped it to version 2026.2.0.0 just ahead of the first Snapdragon X2 Elite machines. The new build brings a cleaner interface, updated Adreno GPU and Hexagon NPU drivers, and game-by-game settings for things like super resolution, frame-rate limits, and texture filtering.

That puts Qualcomm’s software a lot closer to the driver panels Nvidia and AMD users have had for years. More than a simple UI cleanup, it looks like Qualcomm is turning this into the main hub for a bigger Windows on Arm gaming push.

The timing also lines up with Snapdragon X2 Elite, a 3 nm chip paired with the new Adreno X2 GPU. Qualcomm says it can reach up to 2.3x the performance of the last generation, including 60 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 on medium settings with FSR, where the earlier chip was closer to 30 FPS. The company is also claiming graphics performance 50% faster than Intel’s Core Ultra 9 288V and 29% ahead of AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370.

If you’ve been watching Snapdragon gaming laptops, this update is probably one to install. Still, the first hands-on results are more restrained: about 40 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 and 54 FPS in Baldur’s Gate 3 at 1200p low, and in some cases the competing chips are still out in front.

Qualcomm also says more than 90% of the most-played games should work at launch. Qualcomm Prism adds AVX and AVX2 support, anti-cheat compatibility for Denuvo, BattlEye, and Easy Anti-Cheat, and there’s even a native ARM64 version of Fortnite. Even so, you should still go in expecting crashes, games that won’t launch, anti-cheat blockers, and the usual emulation overhead.
