Rayman Legends Retold has officially been delayed. Originally set for release on October 1, it has been pushed back to December 3, 2026. The reason they’ve given is that the team “has decided to take some extra time to make sure every detail gets the care it deserves“. This will help them deliver the best game possible.
A month packed with games
Another reason that seems to be behind the delay is that October is packed with games and the release of Rayman Legend Retold could be overshadowed by them. Many games have moved their release dates to October to avoid coming out close to GTA 6, which comes out on November 19, making October a very difficult time for video game companies because of the number of releases lined up throughout the month. On October 1 alone, 10 games are coming out, among which Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered and the ports of Octopath Traveller 1 and 2 for Nintendo Switch 2 stand out.
Given these circumstances, it makes sense that Ubisoft wants to move their game to early December, where there still aren’t many releases scheduled and the competition isn’t as intense. This gives them a much better release window for the game while also giving them more time to polish the game and make sure that, as they put it, it gets the level of care both the game and its players deserve.
