Samsung has partnered with Lookout, one of the most popular antivirus apps for Android, to bring enterprise level security to Samsung Android phones. The handset manufacturer will be bundling Lookout as part of its KNOX security suite for enterprise on its new and last generation smartphones.

  • According to Lookout, “Samsung KNOX is an end-to-end solution that provides security hardening from the hardware through to the application layer. Lookout for KNOX will include real-time, cloud-based scanning to protect against mobile threats from email attachments, web browsing, and any type of file sharing services.” This is similar to what Lookout has been offering its Android users with its paid and free antivirus app. Lookout leverages the cloud to provide real-time threat protection from malicious apps, attachments, and even web pages.

This partnership makes sense as Lookout is one of the top Android security apps, which has over 45 million users worldwide. While Android does have its own security measure to protect against malware and viruses, Lookout offers a more robust solution as well as backup features. By partnering with Lookout and bundling the company’s software with their phones, Samsung is differentiating its products from the rest of the competition.
