Samsung now investigates Galaxy S26 Ultra red-tint issue: users report a red “blob”

Samsung says it’s looking into reports that some Galaxy S26 Ultra phones start showing screen discoloration after two or three months of normal use. People posting on Reddit and Naver describe the issue as a red or pink patch in one part of the display, and some even call it a red “blob” near the center.

There are now enough of those posts that Samsung has responded officially. Even so, the company still doesn’t have solid numbers on how many Galaxy S26 Ultra units might be affected. A few user reports go further and say the same problem has appeared on in-store demo phones.

The pattern is the part that jumps out. Users aren’t describing the whole screen shifting color, which would be easier to connect to calibration or software. They’re talking about one concentrated area, which raises tougher questions about the display panel itself or related hardware.

Most of the speculation in those threads centers on the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s hardware Privacy Display tech and whether it could be affecting panel uniformity over time. Other theories have come up too, including uneven OLED pixel stress and early burn-in. At this point, though, that’s still all speculation.

If you own a Galaxy S26 Ultra, keep an eye on it. If Samsung confirms a hardware defect, a software update probably won’t fix it, and repairs or replacements would become the more likely outcome.

These reports also add to the earlier scrutiny around Samsung’s Privacy Display, including complaints about eye strain , nausea, and questions over the screen’s color-depth specs. For now, while Samsung investigates, there’s nothing to download and no user-side fix to try.
