GTA 6 is not only the biggest release in the video game world this year, but also the biggest cultural event of the year. Poised to break every record imaginable, it makes sense that everyone who has taken part in it is eager to let it be known that they’re part of it, because their popularity could very well explode thanks to it.
The musicians are already warming up
The clearest example has been Travis Scott, posting an image to his Instagram very clearly related to the imminent release of Rockstar’s game. Country musician Morgan Wallen has done the same, though more subtly and without mentioning Rockstar itself, on X, formerly Twitter. Future has done the same on Instagram.
These three artists join those we could already hear, even though they weren’t credited, in Netflix‘s extended look. They’ll join artists like Lil Wayne, Def Leppard, Depeche Mode and Phil Collins, among many others still to be announced.
Rockstar is expected to announce the list of artists featured in the game over the coming weeks before the game’s release. The game launches on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. So we can expect even more of these hints here and there from musicians hinting that they’ll be part of the biggest cultural event of the year.
