Skype is about to be infinitely more useful for international users. The company showed off its live voice translation tool inside Skype. Called Skype Translator, the tool will debut in Windows 8 “before the end of 2014.”
The video above shows two people, one speaking German and one speaking English, conversing seamlessly with live translations. The technology is advanced enough to translate sentences with proper grammar.
I can see Skype Translator being extremely useful for international teams that have members speaking different languages.
Android Police speculates that Skype Translator may not be a free service when it launches. You can expect to see the feature debut on Microsoft’s platforms first.
