Sons of the Forest is being one of the games in recent weeks. The rise of this title is such that it has surpassed Hogwars Legacy among the most played on Steam, a good example of the power it is enjoying.

Map the controls
The first tip is perhaps the most useful of all: configure the controls of Sons of the Forest to your liking. In a survival game where you can be killed in a few seconds, having the keyboard adapted to your needs is not only important, we would say it is vital.
In Sons of the Forest you can set a series of objects on the keyboard numbers. In this way, you will have direct access to them just by pressing a key. When it comes to switching between melee and ranged weapons, this is really useful, as well as for those tools that can be used to survive in the game.
Loot as much as you can
This second recommendation is useful for Sons of the Forest… and any self-respecting survival video game. Anything that is on the stage and can be looted, do it. That you see a box and it lets you look inside? Open it without fear. That you found a briefcase and you can open it to see if it hides something? You take time to do it.
In all these places you will find useful materials, even though many of them may seem irrelevant at first glance. Who knows if with any of them you can craft a tool or weapon, not to mention that many of these include the precious food, more than necessary for our character not to die.
Creates a multifunctional weapon or tool
This “trick” is often overlooked, but if we had to choose a weapon to create first, we would opt for the axe. After all, the key is that it is multifunctional, that is to say, it can be used both to pull off a head and to cut down a tree to obtain wood.
Also, remember to have several at your disposal (and adjust them to the keyboard as we said before) in case one breaks. The spear is very useful in the first bars because of its ease of use and easy to obtain.
Water near is life
Food and water are the two fundamental elements for our character not to die. For this reason, when you go to build your base or tent (something we recommend you do in the first stages to be able to save your progress), remember to do it near a river.
The rivers will provide you with drinking water at all times, so exploring the surrounding area will be much easier. And yes, you will also be able to store this water in the containers you create or find along the way.
Beware of winter
One of the great novelties of this Sons of the Forest is that there are changing seasons. Therefore, you will not always enjoy a peaceful and beautiful climate: there is also winter.
When the cold weather arrives in the game and snow floods the map, the amount of resources is drastically reduced, not to mention that we will have to deal with inclement weather. It is good to prepare for this season by stocking up on food and supplies.
