A New Champion Emerges: Squid Craft Games 2 Delivers a Surprise Victory

The Squid Craft Games 2 have come to an end. The Minecraft world championship in which the most popular Twitch streamers compete in different trials based on the Netflix series The Squid Game has finally come to an end after six days of contests.

The last big game of the event was between the French Shadoune666 and the American SAPNAP. All the Spaniards, despite organizing it, had already been left out of the final event, and these two streamers ended up facing each other in the so-called Squid Game that gives the event its title.

Finally, SAPNAP managed to beat its European rival, and won the $100,000 prize. In this way, the money has traveled across the Atlantic to reach their hands; after a first edition that was much more national and ended with a final between ElXokas and Ollie Gamer.

How was the final of the Squid Craft Games 2?

The final of the Squid Craft Games 2 consisted of two tests: one in which the 20 semi-finalists participated and the last one in which only the two streamers of the final remained. Therefore, the first test was a challenge for most of them: 18 had to be left out, and the game was not easy at all.

Basically, the first challenge was that players had to run while a certain music was playing. At that moment, the music stopped and the players had to run to lie down on plates that suddenly lit up. Only two players could survive, so they would gradually fall.

The ultimate challenge

After an entertainment break after the semifinal, the final came and the audience was divided in two: those supporting Shadoune666 and SAPNAP’s defenders. Interestingly, the Spanish audience aligned more with the French (despite their country of origin, ahem), as SAPNAP had already won the Squid Games from Twitch streamer Mr Beast and is a Minecraft expert.

For the final, the two streamers traveled to the final stage, on the highest mountain on the island. There, the game began: basically they had to stick together until one of them fell from the top of the mountain. SAPNAP ended up winning and taking the grand prize, much to the chagrin of the Spaniards but the joy of the Americans.
