The miniseries The Dinosaurs, produced by acclaimed filmmaker Steven Spielberg, will premiere on Netflix on March 6, 2025. This exciting project, a docudrama, will consist of four episodes that will take viewers on a journey through time, narrating the story of these fascinating creatures that dominated the Earth for over 200 million years.
Dinosaurs are still among us
From their appearance in the Triassic period to their extinction at the end of the Cretaceous, The dinosaurs will explore not only the origins of these species but also their habitats and the fundamental impact they had on the ecosystem of the time. The impact of a meteorite, as one of the main factors of their extinction, will be addressed in this historical account.
Morgan Freeman, known for his unmistakable voice, will take on the role of narrator in the English version of the miniseries, working again with Spielberg after their collaboration on Our Planet in 2023. This latest project has become a benchmark in nature documentaries, which raises expectations around The Dinosaurs, which can be considered a spiritual sequel to that work.
Dinosaur lovers will be able to observe a variety of species, from small protodinosaur species like Marasuchus to giants like Tyrannosaurus rex and Plateosaurus. Aquatic predators such as Pliosaurus and Mosasaurus will also appear, as well as the first feathered flying dinosaurs. The production is handled by Amblin Entertainment and Silverback Films, while the special effects are done by Industrial Light & Magic, known for its work on iconic franchises like Star Wars. Undoubtedly, this premiere promises to be a milestone for fans of paleontology and natural history.
