Stormlight World Guide is out now: worth grabbing even if you don’t play the Cosmere RPG

Brotherwise Games has released The Stormlight World Guide, a 274-page hardcover and the first official art-and-lore compendium for Brandon Sanderson’s The Stormlight Archive.

It comes from Brotherwise and connects directly to the Cosmere Roleplaying Game, but this reads less like a standard RPG manual and more like a full-on Roshar reference book. You get the planet’s history, cultures, characters, environments, and creatures gathered into one illustrated volume, which makes it appealing even if you never plan to roll a single die.

Anyone hoping for massive, story-upending revelations should probably dial that back. Most of the book’s value seems to be in how it pulls together existing canon, largely from around the Oathbringer era, though there are a few smaller additions, including material on Ba-Ado-Mishram and the Shadowform Fused connected to Rall Elorim.

If you’re a committed Sanderson reader, there’s still a strong case for picking it up. Brotherwise says the book includes more than 125 illustrations, official lore tends to carry more weight than another round of wiki searching, and early reviews from IGN and GamingTrend say it works well as a fast, practical Roshar reference.

It’s available now as part of Brotherwise Games’ d20 Cosmere RPG rollout. That project pulled in more than $14.7 million on Kickstarter, based on the campaign page, and Brotherwise says a Mistborn setting is also planned for late 2026.
