Stranger Things now has a new 4K box set: all four seasons on disc

Stranger Things: The Complete Series is finally out as a full-series box set, which means the entire Netflix run is available on disc in a single package for the first time. Arrow Video has the release in both 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray.

Arrow is also doing special and deluxe editions for collectors. The deluxe set packs in 25 discs covering all four seasons and all 42 episodes, plus a 148-page artbook, a Palace Arcade coin, a Hellfire Club patch, and more than five hours of bonus features.

That collector angle is only part of the appeal.

Early reviewers say the 4K version looks and sounds better than streaming, and it comes with the usual advantages discs still have: higher bitrate, more consistent presentation, more reliable playback, and the simple fact that you still own it when streaming catalogs shift around without warning.

If you’ve been waiting for a permanent copy of Stranger Things while Netflix keeps expanding the franchise with things like the animated spinoff and Stranger Things: The First Shadow, this is an easy one to pick up. It also says something bigger about the format itself: premium physical media still has a place, even for major Netflix originals.
