It’s time to take to the streets in the next Capcom fighting sensation. We haven’t seen an SF title for consoles since 2016, but it seems like Street Fighter 6 is currently in development. From the images we’ve seen, it looks like there’s a massive graphics upgrade.
Capcom recently held the Capcom Pro Tour 2021 Finals exhibition series. It’s an esports tournament where gamers face off in the Street Fighter V: Champion Edition game. The third day of the event ended yesterday, but the game publisher had something exciting to share.
It revealed the official trailer for Street Fighter 6, with Ryu and Luke taking the spotlight. There are some closeups of the characters, showing how realistic they look. However, we’re unsure if the actual gameplay will look this good or if Capcom will stick to the cartoonish, animated version.
In Street Fighter V, Capcom made a fuss about Luke becoming the future of the franchise. With him taking on Ryu in the trailer, it seems we can expect more from this character. The seasoned Ryu now sports a beard as a reference to his veteran experience in the arena. We’ve loved Ryu from the start, so we doubt that Luke will quickly take his place.
There’s no indication of which platform the new Street Fighter 6 will launch, as the trailer doesn’t show much in this regard. We’re used to PC and PlayStation editions, but there’s a good chance we may see it on Xbox and Nintendo Switch this time around. We’ll let you know as soon as we have more news.
