Using its mapping and search technologies, Google has created an interactive night tour of Marseille, France. The city has a reputation of being a bit unsafe, but also for its amazing street art. Now you can appreciate Marseille’s art and culture without danger.
Wander the street using Street View and hear the noises of the city. Along the way, you can listen to interesting facts about the city and its culture from narrator Christophe Perruchi. Google also integrates its Knowledge Graph technology which pulls information about landmarks from sites like Wikipedia.
Google Night Walk is almost like a game, rewarding you for reading trivia, looking at art, and watching video. It’s an immersive experience, making the city feel alive.
Night Walk is an interesting technology demo for Google and I hope they create interactive tours of other cities around the world.
