Instagram is also jumping on the artificial intelligence bandwagon. According to TechCrunch, app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi has leaked a series of images indicating that Instagram is developing its own AI-powered chatbot.

Paluzzi’s leaks would show that the chatbot being developed by Instagram would have up to 30 different personalities, which could be chosen before starting a conversation, and could also help users write messages. The leaked screenshots show a product in development of which there is no official word so far and whose launch is not guaranteed.

In addition, it is not known what artificial language model Instagram’s chatbot will use, or whether it will be proprietary or third-party. Meta, its parent company, launched AI Sandbox at the end of May, which would serve as the company’s “testing ground” for creating its first versions of AI-based advertising tools. The tools being developed by Instagram’s owner would allow advertisers to generate backgrounds, images and text that would be more efficient for different audience segmentations.

Instagram is the latest social network known to be developing an AI-powered chatbot. In late April, Snapchat publicly launched its My AI chatbot, which until now was a feature exclusive to Snapchat Plus subscribers. In addition, a few days ago we learned that TikTok is also developing its own chatbot, named Tako, which will be powered by a third-party AI.

A (possible) future member of the chatbot world where ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, currently reigns, and where we also find other great exponents, such as the new Bing, from Microsoft, or Bard, developed by Google.
