The anticipation for the release of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has been increasing, especially after the recent revelation of its launch price and game features. Developed by Gameplay Group, this title will be released on July 2 on various platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Surprisingly, the game will be priced at 29.99 euros, a figure that notably contrasts with the usual range of 60-70 euros that dominates the fighting game market.
A very tempting price
The standard edition of the game will include 12 iconic characters from the Avatar universe, such as Aang, Korra, Toph, and Zuko, as well as an original story mode, an arcade mode, training options, and a combo testing system. A complete online mode is also planned, offering ranked matches, casual matches, and lobbies, which promises to create a robust and dynamic gaming experience. In addition, crossplay support across all platforms is included, leveraging a rollback netcode-based architecture to enhance stability in online matches.
For those seeking a more enriching experience, there is the Deluxe Edition, which will cost $49.99 and will include a Fighter Pass, exclusive HUDs, a soundtrack, and a digital art book. However, what has most amazed the gaming community is the price of 30 euros for the standard edition, which offers accessibility compared to other games in the genre that can cost considerably more.
Despite its attractive price and promising features, the community remains cautious, as the title still needs to prove its quality and the effectiveness of its ‘flow system’ combat system at the time of its release. Attention will be focused on how support characters will be implemented and how players will respond to this new proposal within the Avatar universe.
