I still have nightmares from the first time I traversed the U.S.C.S.S. Nostromo in Alien Isolation, a survival horror video game that uniquely depicted the fear and anguish of having an Alien much stronger and faster than you chasing you through a destroyed ship adrift in the middle of space.

Well, it’s been 10 years since we walked those dimly lit corridors, sweating terror through our pores… and it seems we’re going to suffer again with every cell of our body because a sequel to Alien Isolation is in the works.

A sequel to Alien: Isolation is currently in the early stages of development, as confirmed today by the Creative Director of the original game.

A sequel we’ve been requesting for years

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of one of the best games inspired by the long-standing franchise, the creative director of Alien: Isolation, Al Hope, has shared a new message on social media in which he talks about Creative Assembly’s desire to create a new story that captures the atmosphere and terror of the original 1979 film, while also thanking players for their continued support since the game’s release in 2014.

At the end of the message, which can be read in full below, Hope confirmed that a sequel is in the early stages of development and that more information about this game will be revealed when the team is ready to talk more about it.

After its original release in 2014, Alien: Isolation was first ported to Nintendo Switch in 2019 and to mobile devices in 2021. Despite the technical limitations of the Nintendo console, the port turned out great, giving more players the opportunity to experience one of the best games based on the franchise ever made.

Fans of Alien and Survival Horror games are in luck. Can’t wait to return to space and feel the breath of a xenomorph on our necks…
